Noisey Attic Tank

Anyone know why my attic tank roars as water is filling from bottom to tank through pipes.
The house is a 2 storey house and not an old house and you can still hear it fill downstairs.

    Thanks

I presume you mean when the cold water storage tank is filling from empty to full. Water falling from a height will make noise because it will disturb the air around it (Physics Degree required :D), it may also be caused by pipework vibrating as the water passes along it.You could try to rectify it by making sure your tank has a proper cover on it and is insulated and by making sure all the pipework is secure

Not sure if the same issue but a few years back our water pressure seemed to increase and there was a "squeal" coming from the attic (no it wasn't a mad woman) and it was coming from the pipe going into the tank. I was so jammy and there was a piece of wood in the attic that fitted perfectly between the pipe and the wall acting as a shock absorber. Job done and no more squealing... Well not from the attic anyway. :D
