    Hope someone can help.

I left Ireland a few years back, and never applied for 'the panel' as I knew I was going to a job in the UK. However Id like to consider applying now but finding information about it now is as hard as it was when I posted three years ago! Can someone advise me? Ive already contacted IASW.
How do I go about getting information on and applying for, the panel??

    Hello LadyMayBelle,

Interviews for Band A of the panel were in June this year, I got Band B and was just notified today that the interviews (for Band B) are this December. I don't think there will be another panel till next year but keep checking the HSE website where it will be advertised.

The first thing you need to do, if you are coming back to practice in Ireland is to register with CORU (Health Professional Board). All the info is on their website (CORU.ie). You are not considered fit to practice in Ireland unless you are registered with them. The application is a lengthy process, garda vetting etc so contact them asap to get info.

I'm sorry that I do not have more info re: the panel but I think I have a copy of my application saved which I will send you if you pm me your details. Afaik the 4 competency questions have been the same format for the past few years so at least you will have an idea what to expect when applying. I will keep my ear to the ground too and if I hear anything I will message you.
    All the best,
    E.

I would be interested to hear how you get on: at one point, people were saying that if you had been out of RoI for more than 2 of the last 5 years, Garda vetting was not possible to get. Of course this is a nonsense - it would mean that an overseas trained nurse or doctor would not be able to work here until they had been livign here for three years. So I'm curious how things are sitting now.

you need garda getting and police clearance for any country you ve lived in. The garda getting only covers addresses in Ireland though you have to include addresses anywhere else you lived. The iasw have some vacancies posted on their website for people interested. They are in private/voluntary sector for anyone interested. Recruitment appears slow in the hse despite reports of vacancies within teams. The panel will likely last 1 or 2 years but agencies will plug the gaps in the mean time where allowed.

Hi LadyMayBelle, keep an eye on activelink as they have social care jobs. Some jobs look for social work qualified.

also you can email talentpool@hse.ie with your name, email address, contact number and area of interest and when they are next advertising you will be notified my email and text.
