    Hi,

Just wanted to share this gem I found a while back - a site called camelcamelcamel. I'm not affiliated with them or anything like that, I just think it's very useful.

Sometimes amazon has random price drops that last for a very short period of time, and seem to be apropos of nothing, and camelcamelcamel helps to track them. Basically, you install the browser plugin, and whenever you're browsing amazon, a little camel will appear in the address bar. Click on it, and you can save the product, along with the price thresholds you're interested in. You won't hear from CCC again until the price drops below the threshold you've set, at which point it will send you an email.

I wanted to hold off on recommending it until I had used it a bit myself, but I've just managed to score some great deals using it, that I never would have spotted without daily manual checking myself. It even does a graph of the price over time so you can try to get an idea of highs and lows of the price and judge the current price.

    Worth a punt, I reckon :)

Ideally people would go to the Bargain Alerts Charter & Resources sticky to find out about resources like camelcamelcamel.

I think maybe the Charter & Resources sticky should be updated so that the first post contains the Charter with all the current rules and the second post contains all the resources.

    _____________________________

EDIT: In fact, I think Charter and Resources should be separate stickies. The word Charter probably puts people off clicking on it. And HUKD should definitely be included in the Resources, which it currently isn't.

You could put the "Please use the 'Requests' sub-forum for all Requests" request into the Charter sticky too to avoid having too many stickies. That was more of an announcement than something that needs its own permanent sticky anyway, I think.

And I know it's been discussed but I think the Freebie List sticky should be a subforum rather than a sticky. It can be hard to browse that thread for freebies and to know which freebie people are posting about.

Since I'm posting about where things should be, I'll also mention that this post should probably be in a feedback thread or in a PM to a mod or something rather than here. :P

I searched the forum before posting the link, and didn't see any posts about it. Perhaps posts from 2008 don't appear in the search...

Thanks for posting the info. Even if it had been posted in 2008, obviously there are many people who will not have been aware of it.

Being on the internet too long causes some people to lose touch with reality and forget that not everyone is not aware of every site that exists on-line since it's inception.

    I love Adquisitio.
It's really a swiss army knife for amazon shopping: email alerts, historical data, shipping costs, global amazon comparison, realtime price drops per category, browser plugins ...

Ah lads, stop stropping over silly things... the OP made a genuine contribution to the forum, and we should all be grateful. After all, many people just browse the forums and post silly or condescending comments; keyboard warriors, if you will.

Many thanks OP- it is a fantastic little site, and it can only help more people.

Yes, set it up yesterday and clicked the relevant button etc. It all seemed fine when doing it, but when I go to the Alerts page, there's nothing listed!
