    Hi all,

I am writing a Report on the pharmacokinetics of Folic acid but can't seem to find any information on mechanisms of action for Folic Acid..

Any one in Bio-science that could point me to the right direction

    thanks.

If you look up a specific brand of folic acid tablet websites for that product generally have all the ADME info you're looking for e.g section 5.2 on this site

    also.. http://www.drugbank.ca/drugs/DB00158

    Thanks,

I was looking at that site last night, but was wondering how is folic acid absorbed within the human body,

since the liver stores folic acid is it broken down in the stomach from their the compound of folic acid is then stored into the liver.

I think its by active transport in the intenstines, like the other vitamins..i could be wrong but its water soluble and has a transporter molecule...I'd have to spend a bit more time looking that up though!
