As the title says I am after a spare for an Ifor Williams 12 x 6 cow box. It is the type with the wheels outside and is a white roof model with the old type black wheels. I have a vague recollection that somebody said on here that they are the same wheel as off of a land rover defender, if this is the case I can pick one up in a breakers yard. is this the case.
    Thanks all.

650 X 16's. They are impossible to find a decent brand. Currently only able to get Superking's. Trying to find something better branded out of the UK but no look so far

We damaged a rim on ours a few weeks back and got a used rim for €10 from this guy. He even put back on our own tyre for the price!

I assume it's a complete spare ya want, tyre and rim. Agrigear in Baileborough Cavan make up any size of rim. They might be worth a shout.

If it's a land rover wheel it might be worth your while putting a wanted ad in donedeal.

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

Ask on the 4x4 & tractors forum on boards.
Lot of the lads into offroading have stacks of them, dont think i have any decent ones here atm.

the thread on a land rover type wheel is way too aggressive for a trailer, you need a decent radial tyre which is hard to find outside of ****e makes

Funnily enough I have a couple of three here that will fit the bill. I picked them up at right money a couple of months ago and that's why I am looking for a spare rim. Thanks for the help lads, I think I'll ask the land rover boys on 4 x 4 if any of them have one lying about. @ Iver, thanks for the offer but Cavan is a long way from Wexford but if you were local I'd take you up. Cheers anyway.

An ordinary road tyre shouldnt be too aggresive, what about ply rating?

When you say aggressive do you mean it puts strain on the axels when turning ?
I picked up 4 brand new wheels and tyres from a defender that was kitted out with alloys last year and notice fair tracks if im turning on the road alright with a load on .

most land rover wheels though have mud thread tyres, i have seen a good few trailers with these. usually try and put on 12ply road tyre, but impossible to get top brand

The mud/ all terrain tyres are the ones that lads are fitting instead of the standard 7.50/16

no good , if carrying any weight will break your heart with punctures in the sidewall

    "trailer rating" is much stronger

    Would that be a 185/60 12 ?

The reason I ask is I see one here an I dunno what it came off. It's a Maxmiler 185/60 R12 . Any ideas?

Funny thing about the dp120 tyres, ( the ones which recommend 100 psi pressure) is that its is often cheaper to buy a complete tyre and rim, than just the new tyre. My trailer came with Avon tyres, which, last time I priced were 110 euro each , bought 2 complete rim/tyres for 200 instead.
For the trailer with the landrover rims, the minimum would be 8 ply rating. If you can get 10 or 12 ply, all the better.
