I've finally decided to build a pc instead of getting a prebuilt one, so I was told to come here, I have no experience with building pcs/pc parts but I've watched a ton of guides so I think im ready

    1. What is your budget? [€800]

    2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? [Gaming/Internet]
Would like to be able to run games like skyrim if its possible on low settings

    3. Do you need a copy of Windows? [Yes]

    4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? [Only have keyboard/mouse]

    5. Do you need a monitor? [Yes]

5a. If yes, what size do you need. [22'] I'm not really to pushed about monitor size/refresh rate

    6. Do you need any of these peripherals? [Wireless Card]

    7. Are you willing to try overclocking? [No]

    8. How can you pay? [Bank Transfer/Credit Card/Laser]

    9. When are you purchasing? [now]

I'd like to have it up and running by Christmas if thats possible

What fps would I get with an €800 pc with mumble/chrome open in games like tf2/payday ?

Also what benefit is there from buying on hardwareversand over amazon?

    Thanks

With an €800 PC you could play Skyrim on High.

Amd or intel for the cpu, and Nvidia or Amd for graphics card?

I don't really care about brand, I'm just looking for the most bang for my buck

My idea (No optical drive or OS). I comes with a 23" inch 1920 * 1080 monitor, an i5-3470, MSI Radeon HD 7950 3GB Video Card and 12gb of ram. I checked on game-debate, at full resolution skyrim still works on high settings :).

My build uses an r9 270x and it runs skyrim on ultra no fps drops (so far) with EVERYTHING maxed out. The card was only 166 compared to the 230 of 7950..
You don't need 12gb RAM. More isn't always better. With 800 budget you're looking at a very capable machine.

Can't help with the build however the advantage of buying with HWVS over Amazon is simply one of postage cost and/or delivery dates.

With Amazon you order all your parts and might get hit with a postage cost for each and every part if they're not available to ship on the same day.

With HWVS you order all your parts and they charge a flat rate for postage and ship it all together. Considering a pc can be comprised of upwards of 5 parts and Amazon would hit you with a €12+ (not considering parcel motel) you could get hit with a massive postage cost or increased wait times.

Amazon ship as each part is available, HWVS ship when all the parts are available.

Side note: I could also argue that it's easier to deal with HWVS since they're one seller as opposed to Amazon where you might have a seller for each and every part.

HWVS coupled with the Geizhals.de discount workaround.

Saved me e80 on my build, never mind amazon pricing!
