Like him or hate him, according to the ratings Tubs has been a big failure on the slot, So who do you think should be on 2fm weekday mornings at 9 ? Should it continue with the talk format ? Would a more music driven show work better ? Might it be a good idea to reshape the schedule and have the breakfast show running until 10 ?

2FM should be closed down. It's a waste of time and money. It's a radio station that appeals to nobody. Get rid of it and give Tubridy the John Murray slot on Radio One.

The hope RTE have is that 2fm can create surplus funds again like it did until 2009.

Well someone might object to that... John Murray returned this morning!

No problem. We'll get rid of the Derek Mooney Show and give that slot to Tubridy instead ;)

Nobody has replied to the original question posed, i.e. who should be on 2FM?

I'm open on the subject as I usually would be at work during that critical time!

Maybe, it would be an opportunity to overhaul the mid-morning schedule on 2FM. After all, talk is already being done on Radio 1 and Newstalk and countless local stations.

A few alternatives (brain-storming if you like): Rick O'Shea with the odd entertainment news bits between music, Jenny Green with ditto, Ian Dempsey (with Mario and co.), 3 hours of Colm Hayes (controversial!), morning requests show with Marty Miller / Daragh O'Dea / Carol Dooley / David Dennehy / Jim McCabe / Barry Dunne / Niall O'Keeffe.

If you want to stick with the talk-format, how about Michael Reade from LMFM?

I'm just trying to get people thinking!
