Real good racing at all the tracks some lovely bred 2 year olds running in Leopardstown particuliary Oxx's STS ones,Welds first runner for Aga Khan runs in a 2yr old maiden too.

Good racing in Cork, first race value may be in the Swan Gigginstown horse who won a bumper on the track and slipped up behind Moyle Park taking on the ricci ex flat horse who will be very short

the maiden with Unic de Bersy and Azorian taking each other on Russel has a record for picking the wrong giggy horse,Bold Optimist hasnt ran in years but I remember they thought he was a machine when winning that leopardstown bumper beating felix younger who runs on the same card tomorrow,I will wait for the prices but early indication on BF have Unic fav  I had priced Azorion about 11/10 hes 3.4 on BF for small money.

Felix Younger should take the novice chase on the road to bigger things,13/8 a bit skinny so probably have a small bet on Sizing Rio.

Smad place goes chasing in the 1.15 at Huntingdon with a clear round he'd want to be beating that lot by half the track 2/5 is short and I dont back Choc Thornton so a watching Brief for me,

Hannibal the Great is a nice novice running on the card and should win with little fuss carrying a penalty.

Gay and Derrick Smiths Cheltenham HOLYWELL winner goes Chasing in the 1.30 @ Carlisle,2nd to Solwhit then at Aintree is serious form 8/11 not appealing for a novice chaser so another watching brief

Tap Night should also win on the card if tuned up enough 13/8 is probably worth backing.

Only one I'll back tomorrow is Vastonea in the 3.05 at Leop, 16/1 looks big each way. Mostly ran at a mile, he won a Gowran handicap off a pound higher mark last year, but has ran well in some really competitive handicaps all summer. Down to a mark of 92, he ran well last time out upped to 12 furlongs for the first time. Dropped to ten tomorrow, he gets a good seven pound claimer on. The draw is a worry though

At Carlisle I'm really looking forward to Holywell and Many Clouds, should make two nice chasers.

Also Tap Night on the same card looks worth a bet, should be a class above getting weight from his main rivals even on his reappearance.

At Huntington in the bumper can't wait to see Father Edward, was really impressed with the way he won on his debut back in the summer. Usually takes an above average horse to win a bumper with a penalty but the way he was backed and won on debut I think he could be a lovely horse. Interested to see Smad Place jumping a fence.

Good card at Cork aswell, as SRFC says some nice and interesting maiden hurdles.

    Cork

1.40: Old Kilcash @ 5/1 - a bit of a hype horse with his big price tag and only beat trees LTO. However, for all his failings so far, the form of his bumper run behind Moyle park and Blackmail is good and 3m is undoubtedly his trip. Reminds me a bit of Mount Benbulben - clearly got an engine but you could never be confident that he'll put it all together. I'll take a chance that he does tomorrow, however.

2.50: Sizing Rio @ 9/2 - Always well regarded and chasing should be his game.

    Leopardstown

2.00: Big Break @ 15/8 - She's let me down every single time she's ran this season so might as well give her one last chance to do so again. Badly drawn but 2/2 at Leopardstown. This time last year, she hacked up here with Magician in her wake. lol

    Carlisle

2.40: Tap Night @ 5/4 - Showed some good form last season and with McCoy hunting down this record, he'll kick it over the line if he has to.

Not getting heavily involved so just included the above 4 in a few tiny multiples for the interest. A good days racing to view, though.

Unoccupied e/w @ 9/1 in the Cork National for me. Getting a stone from almost all the other contenders in what should be a real slog down in Mallow. Hasn't raced over this trip before which is a slight worry but the other contenders haven't a brilliant record over trip and ground either.

Only bet for me today is 2.40 Carlisle Cloudy Too 5/1. A horse I really rate a lot, this C+D winner was last seen getting beaten a head at Haydock off a mark of 145 last March and despite throwing in the odd poor jump he's a horse who I definitely feel has a big engine. The booking of 7lb claimer Jonathan England (who can't claim) either mean Sue Smith is just giving her 7 year old a run out on season reappearance or she wants to give her young jockey the chance of a Listed prize and given that he won last year first time up I'm hoping for a big run in a small field that he'll definitely relish.

Also a significant market mover this am, Rosom. 11/2 into 9/2..... Someone agrees with you, if not your own speculative tilt.

Sylvester De Sousa riding for Gordon Elliott in the last at Leop??

However huge gamble on Ellison's raider Totalize, 14/1 into 13/2

Impossible to pick something out of that, the NH boys are looking at the nice prize money so that mixes it up completely. If I had to pick something it would be Quick Jack but it is a race better left alone.

    Edit: 11/2 now for Totalize.

He was not happy with Oxx and a virus that virtually wiped out his season. He now will use a greater number of Irish trainers in future with Oxx losing out big time.

I like the look of Jaunty Journey in the 345 in Carlisle at 12/1. His mark has been dropping for a while after a number of poor performances but he won two races ago shouldering more weight than he has today and still looks well treated. The yard are normally in good form this time of year and Sam is riding well at the moment.

Red Dubawi is fancied but has a draw from hell. This race has been a target for some time and needs it very soft to be at his best.If he can overcome his draw he will win [so im told].

The way that Weld horse did it was very impressive, travelled like an absolute dream and quickened nicely.

I'm going back to that fecker Arctic (2.00 Leop). first time on sodt ground since going close to Slade Power over 6f. Ground a little less testing but an extra furlong might make up for that. Small wager on Arctic at a big price (25/1)

Thought the well bred Francis of Assissi looked a group horse in the making first day of the season when hacking up off 92 at a time when O'Brien's tend to need the run. Had months off and entirely different going last time and should do better today

    Stony Grey 4.10 Leopardstown.

Serious improver and the step up in trip shouldn't be a problem based on his last run. Is going to make a really smart NH horse IMO.

Was hoping to get double figures but the 12/1 is all gone, 8/1 will do.
Last bet of the flat season :( but confident I'll get a great run for my money.

I would be careful with that, the jockey has a poor record with the trainer alot of his recent runs for her he has been beaten out of sight.

Well done Urban. Big Break has been one endless disappointment this season.

Cheers Jim. Hopefully the well backed Vistonea does the business in an hour

Well done rossom and Urban, great shouts.

Went out for the day and only back now. Unoccupied backed all the way into 4/1 jolly (I was thinking Gary O'Brien must have tipped him for that sort of money) finished a distant second.

Really impressed with him today. Jumped very well today which has been an issue in the past and but Sue Smith has obviously done a lot of schooling over the summer. I would say that Tap Night probably wasn't fully wound up so the performance may not turn out to be as good as it seems but he certainly couldn't have done much more today. Surely that will push him into the 150s so his future may lie away from handicap company. Definitely looks to have improved since last year and he's a horse I'm definitely looking forward to running again.

What a poor run from Red Dubawi totally sums up David Marnanes season.Murtagh said he" went out like a light when I pressed the button".For a small stable to spend 130k on a horse from South Africa and not mapped in three races then sell him for 25k all in one season, not good. The money was down recently on Jamsie at Dundalk when the totally frustrating Seanie goes and beat him.Jamsie needs another 7lb to Qualify for a top Handicap at Maydan so keep a close eye on Dundalk over next few weeks.Ive had words with him in Roscommon over the riding of Hes Got Rhythm where in my opinion Fergal Lynch is a liability. He has put a lot of eggs in the Kodiac basket and again I believe that to be a mistake.Lets hope he has a good Maydan.
