    Hi,

i just bought a new TV, was trying to connect the upc coax cable to the tv but there is only a aerial plug. Any around without buying a connector ?
I got few male and female aerial connectors.

As well, on the argos, is is written that the tv is Saorview approved to work with the Irish digital signal, but after few scans, i can't get any irish channels.

    Thanks in advance.

Don't know about the first part of your question but for the second part as far as I know you need a saorview box.

To use Saorview you need an aerial, the UPC connection will provide channels from UPC.
You do not need a Saorview box with a new TV, unless you bought a complete dud.

Sounds like you are looking for one of these adaptors?

You will receive whatever analogue channels are available on UPC in your area.

Aerial needed as others have said for saorview channels.

"System spec view System data DTV Tuner DVB-T/C
    Analog Tuner Yes"

That TV does have a digital cable capability but only RTE1 is unencrypted AFAIK
