According to feedback on Twitter, the only representative of a religious body to defend Ireland's blasphemy law at today Constitutional Convention meeting was Ali Selim of Clonskeagh Mosque/ICCI. Is anyone in Muslim community in Ireland disquieted by this? Was there any attempt to reach consensus or was this simply a solo run by him?

No idea if he consulted anyone, but I do very much disagree with him. The blasphemy law is silly and has no place in modern Ireland.

No the Knights of Columbanus were also in favour.

Perhaps I used the wrong terminology, but the Knights are a lay body with religious aims; they don't represent any religion here and they wouldn't overrule the Catholic Church themselves on issue or claim they represent Catholics as a whole.
