Samsung S4 battery

Galaxy s4 only 4 months old has started switching off randomly. Says its charged from near empty to 100% in 20 minutes sometimes. Took out battery and its very swelled. Phone is unusable.

I have read online that samsung has recognised problems with the battery on s4.

Should I go directly to samsung ireland or back to the retailer? has anyone else had problems with theirs?

    Any advice appreciated.

Bump on this, I've done a thread search and a few people have had this problem, including me. Anyone know what I need to do?

It's a known issue with a high percentage of S4 batteries, Samsung are replacing them free, get in touch with Samsung or bring the phone back to the shop you purchased it in and ensure you don’t pay for a service you're not required to.

I rang Samsung Ireland directly who were excellent to deal with, they apologised immediately and gave me the option to send it to them or take it to fonemenders myself. I brought it to fonemenders and they replaced it on the spot no questions asked. Save yourself the probable bother of going through the retailer/network provider and ring samsung yourself. Vodafone only succeeded in raising my blood pressure when I contacted them about it, worse than useless.

Great customer service from samsung but I'll be looking eslewhere for my next phone.
