Family holidays 2014?? - Portugal

    Hi,
    myself, my wife and 9yr old boy usually go to Albuferia in Portugal for our summer hols. We normally stay at the clube Praia Doura, it cost us €660 for 1 week in july for a 1 bed apart. We love it but it changed ownership recently and the hotel told us last summer that prices would rise as new owner felt it was underpriced. Also they are actively promoting their timeshare business so i think they are moving away from the average joe booking on the internet. Recently we went to book for 2014 and found that for july 2014 the price for 9 days is €1770. Its an incredible increase.
    We were wondering if anyone can recommend a good aparthotel in albufiera or vilamoura. Would love some personal recommendations
