UCD Rifle Club is pleased to announce that we will hold UCD Winter Air Open 2013, on Thursday 7th and Sunday 10th November 2013 at UCD Rifle Club Range, UCD, Belfield.

This is an open competition for 10 metre Air Rifle and Air Pistol.

Competitions:

• Air Rifle 60 shot
• Air Rifle 40 shot
• Air Pistol 60 shot

Class prizes will also be awarded (based on the first 40 competition shots).

Entry fee: €15 (€10 students/juniors/seniors)

Pre-booking is essential.

Please note that this competition will be under the new ISSF timings (ISSF Rules and Regulations 2013 Edition Section 7.9).

15 minute combined sighting and preparation time.

Followed by:
50 minutes match time (40 shot competition)
or
75 minutes match time (60 shot competition)

No sighting shots can be taken during match time.

UCD Winter Air Open 2013 took over over two days, Thursday 7th and Sunday 10th November 2013, in the UCD Rifle Club range. With over 40 entries, the Winter Air Open follows on from the high attendance in Air Open I three weeks previously.

In the 60 shot Air Pistol competition UCD’s Joe Thompson put in a fantastic score of 555 to take first place, with Rathdrum’s Caroline O’Brien taking second place with a score of 549 and Tomas Jakubauskas from Wilkinstown coming third with a score of 542.

In the 40 shot Air Rifle competition UCD took all of the top slots with Claire Leyden taking first place, Valesca Lima second and Kiri Fisher third.

In the 60 shot Air Rifle the Defence Forces Sean Baldwin and Terry Wearen took the top two spots, with Sean taking first place with a fantastic score of 583 and Terry in second, while UCD’s John Lancaster took third place.
Congratulations to everyone who took part and we hope that the high scores and attendance will continue throughout the season.
