Ok, I have finally decided to go for the MCSA Windows Server route and have found some good resources on the web for studying etc.

Question I have is as the 70-410 exam will include R2 in January would I have enough time to properly cover everything for the present exam between now and XMAS or should I just hold off on putting pressure on myself and concentrate on R2?

I guess either way I should still do an overview of Windows server 2012 before moving onto R2?

    Cheers

Most Microsoft exams are incremental. Even if the exam at the time includes R2's features, at least 80% of the exam will cover topics you have already learned about from the previous OS. You do a quick update on the new stuff in R2 and your prepared.

Thanks Cuddlesworth, will definitely start with the original Release of W2K12 server and see how much I can get covered by XMAS. Some good content on the Early Experts site for IT Pros.

Hey, didnt really work out for me, started a bit and then missus had an operation which took while to recover from and havent got back into it since. In saying that I did do plenty of research and I would think you would possibly need the guts of three months for each, suppose everyone's learning curve is different, would be help if you are working with 2012 all the time.

Here's some links I found useful to get at least getting to the planning stage :)http://blogs.technet.com/b/keithmayer/archive/2012/07/18/all-three-beta-exams-now-available-for-mcsa-windows-server-2012-ws2012-hyperv-certification.aspx#.Us8Xn7TFrwL, http://mikeferrara.com/2013/05/passing-70-410-exam-installing-and-configuring-windows-server-2012/.
