Five years of austerity caused by the banks and the first thing you see when you land in our great country is Welcome to Ireland, Blah Blah Sponsored by AIB, Irony perhaps?

I would not qualify to sponsor Ireland, I would have to force thousand of people to migrate, put many more thousands on the bread line, then take loads of money of Joe public only then would I qualify to sponsor Ireland.

There's many similar examples elsewhere. The UK airports for example are all plastered with HSBC signs. I don't see why we should preclude certain companies from buying advertising space in our airports?

It's that new bridge they built to boards through the Distilled Media HQ.

the taxpayers paid for that sign and the problem is that bank helped to destroy my country

So do you want all the taxpayers names on the sign?, that will be some huge sign.

I think the funniest of them all is Today FM weather, sponsored by Bulmers Cider..

So the sign should be corrected to:
"Welcome to Ireland which sponsors AIB!"

It always amazes me that things as simple as this bother people. What an incredibly easy life you must lead to have this top of your ranting agenda.

I'm in terminal 2 right now! Decided three hours ago to book a flight to Glasgow and go on an adventure. I have to fly to Edinburgh though cos that's why.

I'll take a pic for you on my way home.

OP has a point, its like landing in LA and being greeted with a welcome sign sponsored by Enron.

Isn't this just AIB buying an advertising space at the airport and writing "Welcome to Ireland" on it? You see things like that in almost every airport.

Car hire, telephone companies, banks, hotels all advertising to tourists, business people, travellers or people moving to the country..you know trying to get new customers.

You're right to be angry OP.

The correct formulation is "AIB: Sponsored by Ireland".
