Not at all confused. I can recognise if a person of the same sex is good looking or not.

Maybe you have some hang ups about more masculine men, so you become attracted to the better groomed, less threatening gay man,

I do find that of my two gay and one lesbian FB friends, one gay and one lesbian feel the need to remind us of their preference in pretty much every status update or photo upload.

I like the flange, but reminding everyone how much I want to smash the granny out of Mila Kunis every three days would get boringly repetitive for those subjected to it.

Do gay men in general take more pride in their appearance you mean? On the whole, probably. Still some gay slobs out there though.

In many cases they do have fabulous hair.

And most straight women are vastly better looking than their lesbian counterparts.

    Ohh come on! :pac:

The question implies a ridiculous generalisation anyway OP, you can't possibly know whether a man is gay or straight just by looking at them.

surely it's only the more 'butch' lesbians that are more obvious/stand out more

Well if they're wearing chaps outside The George....

Its a myth put out there by straight women. Straight men in relationships instantly appear more attractive to women. Why? Well for the same reason as gays are supposedly better looking than straights. Women want what they can't have.

    Jaysus you talk some ****e.

Madrid has a massive gay population and many of them really take care of themselves. Good looking men, yes, but too overly groomed to be attractive to me.

    Its just you

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Which is the point of boards. The OP is expressing an opinion. That is all.

I know a gay guy who is flawless in his appearance and good looking.

I also know a gay guy that looks homeless, smells like dirty socks and is in general...a fcuking disgrace to society.

    It's all apples and oranges.

There seems to be a rather strange fashion taking place amongst a strata of gay men at the moment. It involves wearing incredibly tight trousers that are 5" too short, not wearing any socks and pairing this with extremely pointy shoes. The idea that all gay men are masters of the wardrobe with a keen eye for sartorial elegance is complete tosh. Many of them dress appallingly.

    Some do - some don't

As a gay man that's far from pretty I'd say it's the same. Maybe you don't identify the less good looking ones as Gay?

What about a gay couple where one bloke is a right ride and the other a holy show? What then, hah? Tell me that.

I imagine that being men, gay men understand men well enough to know the importance of being eye-catching. And so gay men spend more time over their appearance in order to impress their gay counterparts.

Straight men OTOH don't understand women at all and are generally conditioned to think that caring about your appearance is fruity, so spend less time doing so.

    It's definitely changing though.

The ride finds that party invites suddenly dwindle.

I was brought up in the 80s so my profound suspicion of male grooming is not predicated on sexuality.

I know lol. Stereotyping a whole gender apparently even though many women I've talked to about this agree

You might want to pm the mod about it, talking about it in the thread will just lead to more trouble.Btw I'm not sure "many women agree" is your best line of defence :P

Yeh a yellow is just a warning lads, it's not an infraction. We've had so much feedback on gender issues and we're not going allow generalisations based on a few women's opinions.

In future if you want to discuss a mod action you do it via PM and not on thread as per site rules.

    Thread is pointless. Closed.
