One of the most appropriate comments I've seen, couldn't agree more:

No matter the outcome of the trial, I pretty much have lost respect for any of the companies involved with Rockstar. Instead of trying to fairly compete against Google, they try to win via litigation.

Patents, from their historical origins are a societal bargain. The inventor allows the public to see what the innovation works in return for a fixed-term monopoly. This action is not about protecting rights but instead is a restrain on trade, hampering innovation and harming the economy. When this comes to court, as it is nearly guarented to due to the deep pockets on both sides, the trial judges opinion will prove interesting.

Always reminds me of this :

Sadly this will be true of Apple, Microsoft , Google etc. unless the us congress pass's the proposed "Patent Trolling law"

They filed in east Texas, the friendliest place to holders of obvious patents outside of the patent office.
