Nexus 4 and 5 availability in Dublin, Ireland

    Hello,

I am hoping someone can help me in determining why as a resident of the state that Google's EU HQ resides I am unable to purchase a Nexus 4/5 from the play store.

So I have a couple of questions which I hope can be answered to shed some light on the current state of Google's relationship with the carriers in Ireland.

    (A) Is the restriction on the Play store when ordering a Nexus 4 or 5 to do with Google's relationship with mobile carriers here in Ireland?
    (B) Is Google really listening to the development community around it's EU HQ?

I am not looking for comments on how I can go through the rigmarole of ordering one in the UK. I know all that. What I want is something official from Google on this and a little help from anyone in finding out the reason why.

I also created a post on Google's nexus forum here http://productforums.google.com/forum/#!category-topic/nexus/nexus-5/isx_gJ4vnBQ

    Thanks,

    J

Not sure why you expect an official reply from Google via Boards. I've never seen Google reply here and am
not aware of them having a verified rep account.

Anything we post here would be speculation and people who do know the reasons would have to consider NDAs etc.

Your best bet is to contact them directly as you have done.

Sadly I don't think this thread will get to the bottom of it more than any other discussion on boards about the topic. It's a pain in the ass, but not much we can do about it unfortunately.

I think it's just population to phone sales ratio.....not worth it for them to deal with us...
