 I would appreciate a bit of help.

I want to buy a tablet. I don't want to spend an arm and a leg for it because it is my first time and I want to see how I fair out.

Our PC at home is in a small study, therefore when I want to go on the Internet I have to go in to that room. I would like to be able to use the internet when I am on the couch or in the kitchen.

I would also like to have a USB port, to watch movies, etc.

And just to finish, a camera.

    Please help me.

If you are looking to dip your toes for little money, then you probably would be satisfied with the Hudl from Tesco.

It is not just the money, I would pay €200 to €300.

Pick up a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, 7 or 10 inch depending on what you want, they are really good value at the moment in the likes of powercity and great as a first tablet.
If you want to spend a bit more, go for the Tab 3.

For that kind of money you could get the new Nexus 7 for 249 for the 16gb version or 299 for the 32gb version.

    Nexus link

Or for a little more the LG G Pad 8.3 for 339

€200 would be my maximum to buy a tablet.

    I reckon the Nexus 7 is a no-brainer so.

I would say I agree apart from the fact OP would like a camera, Nexus 7, only has a crappy front camera so maybe there are better choices for him, unless camera is just for skype and the like.

Edit: Why not just move right along to post 13 and pretend this one didn't exist? Super. Thanks.

BMJD, where did you get it and how much?

I got it in Dixons in Dublin Airport for €266, the usual RRP is €299. You might get it cheaper on Amazon, or else Komplett.ie have it for €279 inc. shipping. Tesco sell them too; if you have a bunch of clubcard vouchers to use, it could save you a bit too if you'd rather buy from a bricks'n'mortar shop.

The 16gb retails for €249, it was €209 in the airport iirc, you could probably get it for close to that if you shop around online.

I have the Samsung Tab 2 7" and the first Nexus 7 and the nexus is in a different league speed and usability wise. Spend the little extra and get the nexus or if you can stretch a little further you might as well get the newer Nexus 7 is what I would recommend.
