Hey guys, just a quick question. Our landlord is selling the apartment we live in. That's all ok, because even though we like it, it's time to move on. However the estate agent has called to ask can he show the apartment to somebody at 5:00pm this evening. Does he not need to give me 24 hours notice?

If it doesn't suit you, let them know and they will have to delay it, maybe suggest a time/date that would be better for you. You don't have to agree to any viewings as far as I know.

Correct- viewings while you are still resident in the apartment, are entirely at your discretion, not the landlord's and certainly not the estate agents.

Note- its not really a good idea to have viewings with the tenant still in situ- you have to consider all your belongings, and the potential for things to mysteriously go missing- it really is a recipe for unhappiness all round. Also- if you have furniture or fixtures or fittings of your own, a new owner or tenant might imagine them to be part of the deal- when obviously, they're not.
