I'm not sure if this is in the right place but I applied a month ago for an Indian tourist visa and I've heard nothing back since.
It says the process takes ten working days. I've tried ringing the embassy in Dublin but the line is constantly busy and I've left messages and e mails but as of yet,no reply.
Does anyone know of a way of finding out the status of a visa application... I've tried entering the reference number on their website but that doesn't work,I'm at my wits end and any help is appreciated !!

If you didn't include the cost of registered post when applying you are not going to hear anything back from them. You need to just go to the embassy itself in Leeson Park and collect. It's the only way unfortunately. They never, ever answer the phone. One time I had to ring the Irish embassy in Delhi and asked them if they were aware if their was a problem with the Indian Embassy in Dublin as I could not make contact and wondered if it was closed, that I needed my visa urgently. I was told there was no problem they were aware of. I rang the Indian embassy again five minutes later and this time the phone was answered fairly promptly. Oh the joys!!

Thanks Shinto. Yes I've included all the nesscessary documentation and a prepaid registered envelope which I have the tracking number of but which hasn't been activated yet.
I'm working in the UK and I need my passport for a flight before Christmas. I posted everything from here by registered post and it was all delivered there on the 4th of October so I dunno about this ten working days process .

Forget about the 10 day working days or status updates. It just doesn't happen. It's Indian style business as usual :) Email the consular office and tell them you need your passport back pronto. If you look up the contact details for the Second Secretary on their contacts page and email him directly. He usually gives a quick response and follows through on enquiries and visa status.
