I was sorry today to hear of the death of Hugh Browne. He died after after a short illness

A long time legend of Irish radio, Hugh will be remembered for his work on the early Dublin pirate scene before making the big time on Radio Nova. Hugh also went south and worked on Cork super pirates South Coast Radio and ERI. Hugh also worked on CKR FM while more recently he was heard on Christmas FM, Country 106.8 and online station, Heartbeat. He also kept busy with his PR firm and live DJ work.

    May he rest in peace.

    Thats shocking.

I remember him on an FM station in Foxrock run by Gareth Fennell late 70's.

    Very nice fellow.

    RIP

I had the pleasure of getting to know him a few years back and he gave me my first crack at radio presenting. He was such a classy man and i was always proud to say he was a friend.

    He'll be truly missed.
