Windows 8 activation issue

    I dunno if anyone can steer me in the right direction but I have a windows 8 upgrade key. I tried to activate it yesterday after my hard drive failed and it says I have activated too many machines. It is the only machine using the CD key. Any advice?

    Ring Microsoft if you have a real key they will be able to sort it for you over the phone.

    Click on the "Activate over the Phone" button on the activation screen. If you don't have this button then the key has been blocked. Generally due to being activated too many times I think. See if theres a phone number even somewhere on the activation screen
