Hearts Of Iron, Vanilla or should i get the DLCs

    Ok so after hearing about this game yesterday and really enjoying other paradox games i bought the vanilla edition for a tenner last night.

    However looking more into it now i'm thinking i should have spent the wee bit extra on the DLC (finest hour etc). Is this just me wanting all the bells and whistles?

    Or am i missing out on something by playing Vanilla.

    They're expansions rather than DLC and Paradox only support the version of the game with the latest expansion applied. Practically all mods will also require the last expansion (TFH). Definitely get them - vastly better game with them.

    I don't believe so as the expansions make very significant changes. But really, the original release is hugely inferior to the up to date version.

    Love this game. I've got FTM and I just don't think I can justify spending the price of another game on a few extras in TFH but an upgrade from the basic game is worth it I think.
