As of today I can upgrade ( with Meteor) from my Galaxy S3 to various phones - but for me I nave narrowed it down to

    1. Galaxy S4
    2. HTC One
    3. Sony Experia Z

CAVEAT - all on basis of 24 month contract renewal

    or....

    4. wait on month to month rolling contract until early 2014 and see what the options are then.

(I don't like "the fruity one")

    So what would folk do

Upgrade now from Galaxy S3 to 17 votes

    Galaxy S4

    HTC One
    41% 7 votes
    Sony Experia Z
    52% 9 votes
    Wait a few months

They've all been available a while now so if it was me is be looking at a Nexus 5 or waiting for a newer model of either.

Thanks all but I want to stay with Meteor and Note 3 and Nexus are not options for upgrade .

Maybe I'll chalk that down to option 4 above :)

Over the course of 24 months you will save money going with an N5 and a sim only plan I'd say, and also have a better phone. Downside is how awkward it may be to get your hands on one once they are finally available. If you must have one of the above I'd go for the HTC One.

Rumours that the Galaxy S5 is going to be launched in January 2014

Firstly dont get an Xperia Z, get the z1.

I swapped from a HTC one X to a Sony Xperia Z1. I felt the HTC one and galaxy s4 were poor choices and I'm very happy with the Z1 (not the Xperia Z).

If you know anyone with an Eircom landline you can use their number to get the unlimited packager for Eircom customers (I used my aunts number). 24 months, unlimited calls and texts and 5Gb of data, free phone with HTC one X traded in.

The s4 has a lower spec processor that the. Xperia z1, an inferior camera and an inferior screen as well as the fact that the Z1 is waterproof (not water resistant).

Take the S4, sell it on adverts and buy the N5.

Why is the Note 3 not on your list?
Meteor are selling the Note 3 so if they're not offering it to you as an upgrade option then I'd say guluc.

In the final end I opted for the HTC One. Music is a big deal for me and it's killer sound swayed it for me. :D

It is of course in many other respects a very , very nice phone indeed.
