    Hi all,

I'm very last minute dot com with this so I'm turning to my long time boardsie buddies for a dig out.

I was supposed to use a voucher I had to book a night in the Shelbourne for my wife and I this Saturday night to celebrate our wedding anniversary (dinner + drinks Sat evening + chillaxing Sunday morning etc) but I left it too late. The Shelbourne is full and I'm in deep doo doo unless I pull a rabbit out of a hat.

Our Saturday evening can start around 3pm (kids sports etc until then) and I am happy to drive a small distance out of the city e.g. anywhere within 30 minutes of the M50.

Any good late deal/offer websites out there except lastminute.com which I already tried? I'd consider a package which included B&B, some spa treatments etc

Any suggestions for saving my neck are much appreciated!!!

    Ben

Go to www.trivago.com and type in your dates and it appears that there are still availability in the Shelbourne.

    Pricey though

    Hi Diddly,

The Web Summit has a lot of rooms taken. The voucher I have is restricted to a certain type of room and they are fully booked. Called and offered to pay the differential between the voucher and next best room but no joy :( I guess they want to sell their remaining rooms for cash, not free loading voucher winners like me

There are some good deals on the http://www.hoteltonight.com app but they only come available after 12 noon each day for that night. You can literally only book on the day you need the hotel. Do I have the kahunas to tell my wife I have booked a surprise location and wait to see what's available Saturday lunchtime? If I end up having to book the Clarion Hotel in Dublin airport it could be my last wedding anniversary

Oh that's just mean of them. You could always try them on Saturday when there is less hope of them selling on their remaining rooms.

How about a romantic night camping under the stars?:pac:

By the way, that website is a great idea. Will definately be checking it out in future.

You definately find somewhere nice by then, keep the faith!

The words "romantic" and "camping" are impossible to use in the same sentence, especially in Ireland and even more especially in November in Ireland!!!

Druids Glen have availability for tomorrow night, B&B and three course evening meal for €240 staying in a Delux Double.

    They've spa packages available too.

It just about fits in with your criteria of 30 mins from M50, it's just beyond Kilcoole in Wicklow.

    (Happy Anniversary too!)

Thanks Eponymous, that's a great idea.

I also sussed out a good deal in http://www.radissonblu.ie/sthelenshotel-dublin. A dinner + B&B package in their top floor suite with balcony etc for €225. I might go for that one over Druids Glen. I couldn't bear the idea of being in Druids Glen and not playing golf!!! :p
