Lads V Men

Most Irishmen like to consider themselves men, but all we seem to see are groups of lads out on the batter. Wearing the same old, safe, unimaginative clothing, and laden with limited vocabularies and scuffed shoes. Where's the real men gone to lads? Take a good hard look at what you wear, do your mates dress similarly? If so, lose either them or your wardrobe and raise your game. The women out there deserve it.

Good plan if you want to be the best dressed hermit:p

Well, this is an argument I've seen dressed in a million different clothes :)

Nothing wrong with belonging to a group. Nothing wrong with being individual.

Nothing wrong with obsessing over football and Friday night with the lads, nothing wrong with loving Attack on Titan and going to conventions to hang out with your mates. Nothing wrong with dressing up to the nines. Nothing wrong with a hoodie and jeans if you're comfortable in that.

The only thing that's wrong really is looking at another person and judging them for not liking what you like, and not being what you want to be, basically.

    Well said ;)

It appears to me, your challenge to one's recognition of being a "man," is more of a social standing / class thing. Although the "women deserve better," comment is a bit of a curve ball. Have you been watching 50's romcoms as well?

Hang on, is your definition of what makes one a man rather than a lad something to do with clothing?

I don't know whether to laugh or cry...

Since when do you speak for women? Maybe us women like a man being themselves, rather than dressing differently just to stand out?
