    Hi all,

I know weather cant be predicted so I am going on peoples past experiences in the last few years.

What location is best for skiing in late March in Austria( on a budget!!). I have been told stay away from Soll(too low) but was thinking of Mayrhofen( its pretty high up as far as I remember)... Was there last year in Feb but work dictates I cant go til LATE March this year. Will be flying into Salzburg more than likely through Ryanair.

    Thanks

Conditions were great in the Skiwelt this year well past Easter- it was a sin to close the lifts on all that snow!! But you are right, if you want to book now without knowing how the conditions pan out, you're probably best to go higher.

Here's a pic from the Soll middlestation taken on April 16th this year. If conditions in 2014 are anything similar you'll be laughing ;-)

Yep mayrhofen is where I'd recommend especially with hunter tux up the road.also ischgl, solden, kitzbuhell would all be good bets at that time of year.in fact I'd say all resorts should have good skiing in late march

Browndog82: I would avoid anywhere in the with out a Glacier back up or with an average height of below 1,500 meters that late in the season. Mayrhofen may have snow-bombing on around that time its normally late March Early Aprli, pack some fancy dress and a new liver!!!

With Mayrhofen you have the luxury of choice if the conditions are good and if not you have Tux as a glacial backup. Obergurgal, & Solden will both be pretty good that late in the season in Austria lots of terrain and good snow records.

On the upside accommodation will be cheap and there will be loads of end of season deals in shops on gear etc.
