Ps3 downgrade?

Hi,
Not sure if I am allowed to ask this as I have seen other posts just ignored, so feel free to delete if not appropriate.
Long story short, have a ps3 (originally 3.55) and managed to update it to 4.66 OFW.


Does anyone know where I can get it downgraded?
I had a look in the sticky but no one seems to do it.

Not sure if anyone here will be able to do it, you need an e3 flasher or progskeet, have a look at the cobra ode, it's like an xkey for the Xbox, but it can be installed yourself, it does not downgrade it but it gives the benefits of a 3.55 ps3 if you know what imean!

Had a look at the cobra ode, not cheap....

To make matters worse, my 6 yr old Xbox 360 decided to get the RROD over the weekend.
I now have no console to play, my 6 yr old son is doing my head in.

I now have 2 consoles to get fixed and no one seems to be able to do it.
I see there are some UK places on ebay the do the ps3 downgrade.
I might try that.
unless anyone on here wants to earn some money for Xmas

I think I saw an ad on adverts recently, a guy in athlone I think was doing a downgrade service, you send it to him, he downgrades and sends it back! But has your ps3 ever had 3.55 firmware on it?or did it ship with a higher firmware, If not you can't donwgrade, you can't downgrade to a firmware you never had in the first place!

Just checked, csmb is the name of the guy on adverts, he charges 50 euro for downgrade! Hope this helps! Good luck.

I've got a ps3 still with the other os option so it's well before the 3.5 I also have 2 broken ps3's that could be fixed and as far as I remember they are both on 3.5

Just to update.
My son turned on the ps3 to play some of the games we have on discs (not backups on HD due to OFW being installed)
Bloody thing gave the YLOD?

It was fine (apart from me installing the OFW by mistake) and now its fecked...


Very strange, both my xbox 360 and ps3 got rrod and ylod within a couple of weeks of one another.

The only thing I can put it down to is winter and the heating is on more often, house is warmer, gas boiler is close to were the consoles are..

Kids are devastated, and with Xmas coming up I am going to have to replace both.
You have to love technology..

I am very tempted to drop the cash on a flasher but I know it will end up gathering dust after 3/4 uses....
Still given the paucity of Irish based folk offering a DG service here I may yet splash out
