Hens Ideas

Sis is getting married in April and is having 2 hens - as you do!

First one is weekend away with family so there will only be 8/10 of us. We have located a hotel that caters for hens so will be dinner, prosecco, spa treatments, more prosecco, afternoon tea etc. Won't be a mad weekend as she has specifically requested a nice quiet weekend to gear up for the bigger night out with friends and work colleagues, cousins etc.

I don't want to do the wilie straws etc - don't think my mother would find it funny - so will leave them for the 2nd hens. But I would like to do something a bit more sophisticated.

Any suggestions? Thought of making up gift bags for everyone but what to put in them?

Dinner and drinks. Why would you make gift bags??

Was at a family/friends hen and they did little gift bags. It was a really clever idea, because it created a bit of excitement. They had a little lip-gloss and such, but mainly there were some bright 80's accessories, like glasses bracelets and necklaces/beads, which came in handy because they got a lady to do an 80's choreography dance with us. The lady had the rest: costumes, boots, and clothes. It was fun and got everyone involved.

I think everyone underestimates how much the parents/aunties enjoy the silliness at hens. Most don't mind the willy straws and such hen nick-nacks.
If you're not having a theme, you can always have some cocktails. You can also book someone to teach you to make cocktails. I've also heard of people getting someone to show them how to make a perfume as well, which I think is sophisticated enough for what you want.

    .

Thats a good idea! Bride is 44 (will kill me for that) so 80's stuff would be great fun instead of the usual hen party stuff. Was thinking of little hand creams etc as well

Expensive but you could get those Terry bathrobes embroidered on the back bride/mother of the bride etc and have a girly slumber party in the hotel room one of the nights/ have pink prosecco, paint nails you could even just do it for a couple of hours before going out everyone getting ready together wearing the matching robes.

Don't even have to get them embroidered - my sister did something similar for me and got robes from Penneys and little stick on jewels from Claire's or somewhere - I still wear my 'Bride' robe from time to time
