Rent Allowance, How long/Who?

    Hi There,

    Myself & my husband have been on the council list since July 2009, We have never been offered a house/claimed rent allowance. I now have no income & we're well within the limits to qualify for rent allowance..

    I was wondering is it the council or the community welfare officer you attend to apply for rent allowance & how long does it generally take?

    You would apply for Rent Allowance to your local Community Welfare Officer but I'm not sure how long it takes.
