I've an unusual question. Can you play DVD's on the library computers? (I always use my netbook in the library, haven't used computers in the library since 1st year). I have to watch 3 movies for my essay and I only have a netbook :(

    Hahahahaha no.

There's an AV room on the third floor that should let you play them though. It's for academic purposes, so just make sure you're not taking it away from someone who needs it.

How many DVDs can you take out from the library? and for how long? :/ My assignment is due next week and half of it is based on the actual movies

Old editions that I have to watch are not, if they were my problem would be solved :/

I think DVDs are considered to be the same as books in the library so same lending time and account borrowed

Sorry to hear that, I am doing a thesis on films myself, I bought several of them cheap but cant get one anywhere, if you cant get the ones you are after in the library pop into dublin city centre and go into the ilac centre library they should be able to get you what you want from their database, you maybe left waiting a couple of days though, good luck with the work.

The movies I need are in the library, I just hoped that I will be actually able to watch them on the library computers cause my housemates wouldn't like the idea of me taking the sitting room for several hours to watch movies in language they cannot understand. I already have 3 books out and I really need them for my essay so I cant return them. I doubt I will be allowed to take out 3 movies on top of that

do any of your housemates or anyone you know have a portable dvd player, if so just grab the dvds in the library get a pair of headphones and watch them up stairs in the library, short of that look online for a stream of the movies you need and grab the relevant info on them from www.imdb.com it will tell you the director, publisher, distributor etc.

Unfortunately I don't know anyone who has it. I can find them anywhere online and I actually have to use editions from the library (my lecturer knows them off by heart). I really have to watch them cause I need to be analyze the representation of city in them, it wont be enough to gather info on imdb. I have everything I need for referencing purposes.

Your housemates should understand that it's only a few hours.
I would be really unimpressed if my housemates gave me crap over something I needed to do for college. Your priority is your coursework, not their feelings. /opinion
