Looks well, wouldn't have the patience or the knife skills to do that, I would have a bloody look to the pumpkin if I tried it anyway.

They're actually handy enough to do, that was my first one. Scooping out the insides is about the worst of the job, some stink.

Wasn't just rural Ireland that had to make do with turnips!

The pumpkins we have nowadays are about twice the size of the turnips we had back then )

I tend to avoid Facebook at this time of year as it's full of competitive parents flaunting their artistic pumpkin designs and making me feel like a shit parent.

The birds had it earlier. Every year I promise myself I'm going to make a pumkin pie but never actually do. Next year's the charm, I promise.

Gave it a ago last night. Was half way through and didn't think it was working out so popped in a couple if tea lights and it wasn't a horrible mess so made a few adjustments.
