    Hi all,
The current version on this is 4.0.3.
I'm wondering would the reason for it not updating be the fact that it's a vodafone branded unit, but is operating on a tesco sim 10/11 months.

I'll put a vodafone sim in it again and see what happens.

    Thanks :D

That won't make a difference, you will need to do 3 things to debrand / rebrand it up to date:

    1) Get S-Off (NAND unlocked)
    2) Change CID to 11111111
    3) Flash debranded EU ROM

Just to clarify, it still has Vodafone branding on it and was not rooted/modified, it just happens to be factory unlocked, as Tesco sim operates in it.
I thought that by inserting a Vodafone sim again, that it would update automatically from their server ??

Its nothing to do with the SIM card currently in use, its to do with the firmware currently installed on the phone so I know for a fact Vodafone don't go past 4.1 on the Sensation (I had one) you have to S-Off, change CID (the ID that defines country, phone version and network) and flash a new RUU (as I said, EU debranded). The process is really simple and your SIM unlock won't be affected.
