    Hi,

I have recently been diagnosed with extensive endometriosis.
I am trying to find a specialist or a good gynae consultant in Ireland as I'm very unhappy with the treatment I received and really want to get a second opinion.
I live in the West of Ireland but I am willing to travel anywhere.

    Thanks
    :o

    Hi twintastic,

I'm waiting for surgery at the moment to remove large cyst (most likely endometrioma). I am preparing for a more than likely diagnosis of endometriosis but until the surgery I wont have a definitive diagnosis. Be interested to hear if you have gotten any more information on a specialist in Ireland

Sharon Moss, consultant gynaecologist at the Beacon Women's Clinic in Sandyford, Dublin, specialises in diagnosing and treating endometriosis. She is very good. I've been to her four times and I highly recommend her.

I am in the same situation, suffer with extreme endo , I have had 3 surgery's already two laparotomys and keyhole for adhesions, still not good,in the past 6 years, been from pillar to post, I think adhesions are my main problem and the surgery dosent help vicious circle really'' my consultant is pushing me towards hysterectomy. which may be my last resort as quality of life is my main issue at present . I am very disillusioned as you can understand. I live in cork and dr matt Hewitt is good based in bon secours hospital now also works out of the C U H , he mainly carries out keyhole sugery with a robotic device, he was on the late late show a few years ago. but obviously he carrys out general surgery depending on your condition. long waiting list though and you probably need private cover. I went to see him recently as pain has got too bad I am out of work quite often, which I can't afford to be. he told me come back in 3 months as you can imagine I wasn't very happy. I am now going to a dr tahira khan in mater private in cork to see what she can offer me? it a terrible debilitating disease not enough known about it'' I have tried the holistic approach and found it helped a little. there is also a dr kamal in the hermitage Dublin, and dr Alazzam beacon hospital. I was planning to see him but I don't think I could stay away that far if I had surgery and if there were complications. I wish you the best of luck, if you find a good consultant let me know''

Have a look at EAI private Facebook page. ( Endometriosis Association of Ireland). There are a lot of recommendations for surgeons on there from women that have success with it. Also lots of info and other treatment options and support from other endo women. A great resource!
