I heard a local restaurant was packed on Fri night, also another one jammed for sunday lunch. Now I don't eat out as much as I used to, but I mentioned this to the OH and she thought all the farmers were out enjoying their sfp, but I said no, it's probably a lot of local businesses who got a boost in cash flow in the last few weeks.

What do ye think folks, we've all had the barrage of phone calls, does the SFP have a big affect on the rural economy?

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

October Bank holiday weekend is always crazy busy in Restaurant trade and it the last hurrah before the christmas shenanigans starts. most farmers are too miserable to take the better half out for dinner

I'd say it definitely boosts the farmers suppliers like feed merchants , diesel suppliers , insurance providers and contractors who in turn trickle it back down again to employees and so on .
But I doubt there are many farmers dining out often on the back of it , but I suppose you never know

Plenty of non farmers enjoying heavily subsidised beef and lamb

As a result of sfp but I doubt many of them realise this.
