I dont have any actual evidence that he is but its very strange that though he only represents a tiny proportion of Muslims he is constantly invited on to the TV in the UK when during the Troubles they banned a Pogues song because it was seen as "sympathizing with terrorism" and besides the ban of Sinn Fein members speaking there was a lot of self-censorship.

I don't want to take your thread too far off topic but I just wanted to repeat what I said 5 months ago and show what has developed since then, you couldn't make it up.

Yeah, it feels like we are in the Truman Show sometimes. It's all smoke and mirrors. Actors with roles and lines all playing out their parts. Fake radical Muslims scaremongering, fake nationalists reacting, like the EDL, fake moderate Muslims like Quilliam condemning them both.

Here is some background on Quilliam for anyone who doesn't know:

Quilliam are ostensibly a “Muslim” voice yet they are nothing of the sort. They have absolutely no grass-roots support among British Muslims yet they are often trotted out to give the “Muslim” perspective in public debates and interviews.

Sorry S&F for taking it off topic, just wanted to emphasize that there is more to itt, as i see it, than Choudary, as the fake caricature of a scary Muslim. Something I wonder about from a human point of view is this; living in the south of Ireland has pushed me more and more towards the traditionalist camp of Christianity out of having to deal with "new atheists" who refer to Jesus Christ as a Zombie and God as the "flying spaggetti monster". I do think multiculturalism can work if there is basic human respect but when that is lacking you can forget it. Has the degeneration of British culture and the growing complete lack of respect for anything that could be truelly Transcendent played a part in radicalizing British Muslims? After when they first came over they were all very far the Wahabi understanding of Islam- their veils were a lot more filmsy than those worn by Greek women outside of the cities at that period.

I could see that being true in some of the cases. A pushback against perceived morally rotten and materialistic Western culture. I can see where they are coming from to be fair.
