I hate it. Hate it hate it HATE IT.

I work in an office that deals with european relations. On a holiday 95% have the day off, with 5% of us still in the office dealing with a normal's day workload. Pain in the goddamn hole.

Anyone else working today and feel my pain then?

I like working when everyone else is asleep and everything is quiet and slow. I should be a shoemaker's elf.

Putting down wooden floors for my neighbour, could have left it till tomorrow but it's the first bit of decent (well paid) work I have been able to find in about 2 years so I don't mind working bank holidays.

If I could have steady work, I wouldn't mind if every day was a bank holday!

This is the first Bank Holiday in a year that I haven't worked.

Mondays are actually my normal day off, but because I'm part time (39 hours a week, but technically part-time) I'm the one that gets called in to work bank holidays because that way they don't have to pay extra to get the full time staff in.

Isn't it great how so many people now work on bank holidays yet our public transport system leaves so many of those people finding other ways of getting to and from work.

Even though I don't live in Ireland, I still feel hard done by when there's a bank holiday there. I'm off Friday though, which is probably better.

Might as well be a bank holiday here, 2/3 of my office working from home or just haven't arrived in yet. Stupid weather...

Yes, how dare they plan and advertise having to fix their signalling system instead of waiting for it to break down unexpectedly and taking three days to fix it in the midst of the Christmas rush.

I was speaking about the generally s**t service on Sundays and bank holidays. The Dart not running just reminded me of it.

I would work half the bank holidays throughout the year, including Christmas and New Year.

Its just another day when working in Health Care.

5/6 posts on boards today means the place is seriously over staffed if only 5% of staff are on and dealing with a normal work load while posting on boards :D
