    The Lyrebirds formed back in 2009, releasing their Stephen Street-produced debut single, 'Closer' in the following January. Their last release was 'The Blondehead EP', which came out in November 22 the same year but unfortunately they never released a full album.

    At the time of the Brighton-based five-piece split they had announced via Twitter:

    "We're sorry to say that we have decided not to carry on as a band anymore," the band tweeted. "We'd like to say thank you to everyone who bought our records and supported us."

    Who knows though maybe the boys will realise just how popular their music is, especially now that more and more people are using media such as YouTube and maybe they will consider reforming and as a band realise what they had promised to achieve.

    MLUTV love the track 'Closer' and is for us just an incredible track worthy of the highest praise.

    They are just brilliant ,..any heard of them? sorry to see they split ..think its an great song..they should definately reconsider quitting.
