I am fully qualified secondary teacher. Can you teach in primary at all if you are a secondary teacher; are there any good education primary recruitment agencies you can join? Can a secondary teacher sub in primary and get long termwork maybe a years work

Any advice would be so grateful and appreciated

Not really answering your question but do you think it would be suitable for a primary teacher to be given work teaching second level students just cause they can't find anything else? Would they have any idea the teaching methodologies involved. The curriculum. Etc.
Now put that the other way.

Answering your question I would imagine you wouldn't find any work as there are as many primary teachers out of work as secondary teachers so principals have their pick if people to employ.
Also think sbout then explaining your year in primary at your next secondary interview. If I was interviewing I would be thinking is this person going to jump ship to primary again next chance they get.

to the best of my knowledge, assuming you could actually get the work over the hundreds of unemployed primary teachers, you would be paid the unqualified rate as obviously you are NOT qualified to teach primary. that could have (and presumably has) changed with the introduction of the Teaching Council.
if you are aiming to increase your chances of work how about seeing if you can help out on a voluntary basis with a homework club or something - but be aware you would need to commit yourself for the long haul and not jump ship at the first opportunity

Not anymore, as already pointed out, there is a huge over supply of primary teachers. A principal would come under huge pressure from the DES for giving a secondary teacher even a week's subbing. You'd have to do the post-grad.
