Naas is a punters graveyard any fav backers beware*

The Jp kings theatre gelding in the first race at Naas ''The Doorman'' was not 2nd to Very Wood as the ATR website will have you believe,he was 2nd to a horse of jps who won a nice maiden for enda bolger in listowel called Minella foru beating Shamsikhan of Willie Mullin's,Mouse morris trains the giggy odds on fav in this race so one of them will be out for a school Id guess.

You'd hope Don Cossack and Defy Logic could win with ease tomorrow especially DL's race its awful poor,Rule the world is very well treated.

I was hoping Oscars Well would be aimed at something like the Paddy Power (think he's rated 148 over fences which would be c10lbs lower than over hurdles) but I don't think I've seen him quoted

It's a more than decent Grade 3 he runs in today.

    Decent enough fare at Naas.

My only bet is Pass the Hat. Been following him for a while and was hoping they'd throw him into a good race after his win lto so he might be a working man's price. 10s today so I'll have that.

If Rule the World runs to him Cheltenham form he wins.

Also like Behemoth in the last. Purely because he's a character out of one of my favourite books!

Keep an eye on betting on dundrum and Luke's benefit..reckon both are being worked to a mark..would be surprised if Luke's benefit will run to merits though (hogan not on board) but keep an eye

Lovely first runs from Defy Logic and Don Cossack, particularly Don Cossack.

I think Goonyella will love the heavy ground in Galway today - 8/1 is a fantastic price, I think.

Was looking at the odds on Betfair, and once again, I have to say I am surprised at just how little people know about chases. Goonyella was trading at massive prices I/R coming up to the last few fences despite it only being a few lengths behind the leader and clearly not put into the race even thought others were being ridden along.

Oh well, horse placed but would have won but for the fact it was taken out far too wide in the run in.

Really likeable performance in the bumper from racing pulse.
Don Cossack was very impressive bar one or two niggly errors down the back straight.
Was also a likeable performance from rule the world and he will surely come on a bundle for that run to.

Defy Logic and Don Cossack won as they were entitled to,DC needs to improve him jumping a bit,Defy Logic was impressive enough,I only backed Rule the world out of the horses I fancied today and I wasnt impressed they should send him over fences asap he wont be winning anything over hurdles.

Cant see Don Cossock as a Cheltenham horse at all unless the ground is bottomless.
Could mop up a lot of Grade 1s here though on heavy.

You'd have to wonder why they kept RTW over hurdles considering how quick Gigginstown normally send their horses over a fence.

DC is short of top class imo,he will always be found out in grade 1 company,

RTW looks a chaser to me judging by the way he jumps hurdles, obviously wasnt tuned up today but if your under pressure to beat that thing of Bradys you arent grade 1 material, over hurdles anyways.

Mozoltov is going to be a monster over fences he gave DC a good beating.

I think Don Cossack is top class, I don't usually like the saying whatever he does over hurdles is a bonus but with Don Cossack I think that was definitely the case, he is a huge horse made for fences.

Well done. You must have made a a nice pot even on a small bet! Trebles and accumulators can be a bastard even doing each ways.always one would feck up. A lot of balls too considering Naas destroys favourites.

I don't get people saying Don Cossack isn't top class because his hurdle form and of a facile novice chase race, he can only beat what races against him.

IMO we will see the best of him over 3 miles plus, by looking at his action I would not hesitate in backing him on going from soft side of good to heavy.

My God, do you ever read posts?

    Do you mean:

    1) A top class grade 1 horse that he has beaten in a chase race? OR
    2) Do you mean a grade 1 bumper horse he has beaten? OR
    3) Do you mean a grade 1 hurdle horse he has beaten?

By the way anyone with an ounce of sense would say 1) to which I answer he has won his first novice chase and he can't do more than this

You are right but its hardly a stat you should rely on considering he is still a young horse with possibly bags of improvement in him. Its also hardly good to ignore horses because they didnt set the world alight over hurdles.
Denman beat nothing in his novice hurdle career he even lost to Nicanor in a brutal race at the festival and he is in the top 3or4 staying chasers of the last 10 years.

I'm still not sure about Don Cossack. His last three runs as a novice hurdler when he was stepped up in grade put some question marks against him. I appreciate he was always likely to improve for fences and a trip but to my eyes, he dogged it that day against Mozoltov. I'd want to see him go through with it in better company over fences before my faith is restored.

Agree with the previous comments regarding Rule The World. I wonder are they keeping him to a light campaign over hurdles because they're concerned about the injury he suffered?

    Quote from Martin

''He’s great. We’ve done an awful lot of swimming with him and we are very happy with his legs and the vets are happy with him so fingers crossed we are working away nicely. It’s too early to say anything but we are happy and we have nothing planned just to get him back and riding and if we get him 80 per cent fit we will start thinking of a plan then''

Few stable tours for anyone interested on here

So basically he is a bag of ****e because he never beat a top class grade 1 horse as a 4/5 year old chaser jumping hurdles over insufficient distances?

How would you assess the very smart horses Annie Power and Defy Logic then given Don Cossack was within 12 lengths of them in Naas or the Defy Logic line through Sizing Gold?

Interesting. Figured as much I doubt Ricci gives little ****e running against hurricane fly and ultimately he makes the call.. Adds to the betting dilemma really shaping up to be a great race.

Why should he give a sh*te..the amount of horses he has and money he spends. He should really have priority. He could well have an arkle, champion hurdle, RSA and Jewson to look forward to next year not to mention the supreme chances :)

Oh I agree. I was just stating what had been implied by others.
