Any of the foxing lads think that scent is still fairly poor?! We did a few breaks today and the dogs seemed to be picking and loosing it all day. As the day went on and temperature's began to rise it seemed to get worse.

    Very frustrating!!

At least I'm not the only one then.. We got four yesterday, dug two and shot two. It's frustrating though because I introduced 4 young dogs (1yr-1.5yr) this year and it's not giving them a great chance when the scent is like that. Where's jack frost when you need him?

Be careful what you wish for, the weather guru's reckon we're in for Arctic weather during November and December.

And with those "guru's" it'll probably be mid 20s haha those muppets couldn't predict if there'll be water in the Atlantic

I don't know what the experts say but I reckon it all changes once you get a good hard frost, a nice cool morning with the grass damp enough to wet the foxes paws. Christmas is always the best hunting whether its fur or feather your after.

Just curious but what would you lads average a day with guns and dogs?
Seen a vid or two about it. Looks pretty good.

    Feather
As for dogs pointers and springers

Cold but not freezing or when the frost us thawing as the day goes on not much experience with the snow but I found the scent good in the ditches when snow is on the ground
