Heatmiser do a range. I've yet to install any of their remote accessible range so I can't comment. I'd recommend any of there other stuff. However I have read a few bad reports about their heatmiser app on the play store

Hey[/url] guys, looking for some advice please

Looking to install a new programmable heating controller that I can control remotely

    Something like

    http://wattio.com/en or https://www.electricireland.ie/ei/residential-energy-services/home-services/Climote.jsp

    Any suggestions welcome

Belkin do a range of hardware that can be used for something like this with a bit of imagination. Think they are a fair bit cheaper as well.

    Search for Belkin WeMo.....

Can you explain exactly what you want to achieve by having remote control? Maybe then we could offer some relevant advice. If you tell us what controls you have already installed it would be useful.

Space heat or DHW or both? All zones? Override the existing thermostats? I am confused why this is necessary... or what benefit.

I would spend the money on programmable room thermostats for each zone. These can be set for up to 6 time periods a day 7 days a week. The DHW can be timed and set on a thermostat. If you require further control than that I cannot see the financial benefit of paying for this system. If you leave the heating off for extended periods then the house may suffer from damp and mould issues so some controlled background heating is a good idea. This is facilitated by programmable room stats.and possibly radiator TRV's. If you are wanting to switch the heating/DHW on because you are late home then the instances of this are probably rare so any benefit is hard to see. Hot water is available within 15 minutes with an immersion heater and room heating a little longer depending on your system. If you can explain why you think it will be of benefit I am interested to know how.
If you just want a new gadget then go for it.:)
