Motor Tax rates for imports 2013

Well folks, was looking on motortax.ie trying to find out what bracket an import landing in Ireland in 2013/14 would be taxed under, emissions or engine capacity?

Some of the info on the site is conflicting. Would appreciate if some could clear this up for me. Cheers

Depends on when it was first registered. 08 onwards is all emissions based.

Actually, is it first year of registration ever or is it when it was first registered in Ireland?

I'm looking to import an early 90's performance car to be specific.

So am I gonna get shafted on emissions or will it be by engine cc (2.0L-720e)?

90's car will be based on engine size.

Thank you my friend, you just made my day, I had the wrong end of the stick, thought it was gonna be 2350e-225g/km emissions.

Your vrt will be emissions based though

Yea, checked it up just there, 720e (36% OSP).
Revenue and ones money only works one way, as we all know :pac:
