Nissan Almera 1.5 2004 - Trottle and acceleration issues, I service car regularly but the orange light has been on for some time now. The car is in the garage at present but we can't find the root cause. The chain has been replaced but has not cured the acceleration or trottle problem. There is 150k on the clock. Helpl would much appreciated

Can you be a little more specific about the issues?

Apologies Biko, If was driving ok in the morning and at lunch time the car started up up ok but there was no acceleration despite changing down gears, it wouldn't go no faster than 20-30mph, it just about made it up a small incline. I returned again to the car later that evening and perfect. I was driving along and after 4 miles doing a speed of 60mph just lost trottle again and I returned doing 30mph. I have had it scanned by a local mechanic and he said its a trottle issue. The chain has been changed and 3 main sensors.

Your mechanic should have been able to give you more specific information.

He should be able to say exactly what needs to be done.

Tell us what county the car is in.

Someone here with dealer level equipment might be able to look at the car for you and give you the answers you need to know!!

I had similar problems with my almera and it was sticking brake callipers. After the car struggles for a few mins get out and smell around the wheels. If it smells very hot this COULD be your problem.
