Duty Free Tenerife

    Hey peoples,
My missus has decided to bring me to Tenerife for a couple of days to celebrate my b-day (turning 30)

Just wondering what's the duty free deal coming from Tenerife, some people tell me it's the same as travelling anywhere in Europe but others say you can bring back more.

Anybody go there often enough to know the full story?

    Thanks in advance

Tenerife like the rest of the Canaries is not in the EU therefore duty free is available unlike the rest of Europe which is duty paid. However do remember that restrictions apply to the ammount of goods you can bring in.

Limit is 200 cigarettes and 1 litre of spirits from Canaries as classed as outside the EU. You also qualify for duty free when leaving Dublin airport but prices will be more expensive than in shops in Tenerife, better to wait until you get there.
