Apple user thinking of getting a Galaxy note 3

Hi, Just want to know the negatives about moving to Galaxy from Apple.

Quiet liked the Galaxy note 3. Basically because I can expand the storage. Also the pen worked very well.

Anyone have any bad experiences? I have used apple for the last 6 years. Loved them, ipods, ipads, mac...

The price of the iphone is putting me off a little, or rather having to carry around a phone that could be stolen. Also I need a phone with a lot of memory and according to vodafone I can expand the galaxy memory from 32gb to 96gb.

So what am I missing, apart from finger print scanner which really does not bother me, what at the negatives if any of getting a Galaxy?

Biggest difference between the two is the size of the phone and the OS.
    Are you happy using Android?
Have you held a note in your hand? There is a really big difference between the two in terms of size.
Have you tried putting the note into your pocket?

its a great phone btw, coming from a past apple user (i only lasted a few weeks with an iPhone 4 though before i gave it to my girlfriend :D ) the downside to the Note will be that its not made of the kind of quality materials the iPhone is, now dont get me wrong they are very solid but it just doesnt have that premium feel to it the iPhone will. Also the frequency of updates, the Note will get them fairly sharpish from Samsung being one of their flagship models but it will still be months behind say the Nexus devices, its not that much of a downside to most people tbh but worth a mention.

If your worried about it getting lost or stolen , in android device manager you can locate your android device from your internet browser, you can wipe the phone change the password amoungst other things i highly recommend enabling this.

Lastly have you tried the Note fo, in saying thatr size? its a bit of a beast? Specially compared with the iPhone but anyone i know with one wont go back to a smaller phone :D

I did try it, the vodafone store gave me one to play around with. Next week I am getting a test model to play around with.

The size was just about ok.

Yes the materials were really nice on the iphone. But what I always hated about it was the battery.

Still a little undecided. Had the store had the iphone I wanted I would not have even looked at the samsung. But when I was given the note to play around with its not bad at all. It has a lot of stuff that apple does not. I suppose It made me question what exactly am I getting from apple.

I went from iphone to Note, haven't looked back once.
Initially I thought the size would be an issue but it's been great.

As an affirmed Androidster(?) one of the negatives is the surrounding tech... Apple have a huge number of supporting hardware technologies like integrated sound systems and other custom hardware. That stuff is still kinda available for Android if you look for it, but the different form factors and lack of standard stuff between manufacturers means there is a very fractured market for it.
So thats one drawback but its only a minor one.

I still plan to use my ipod anyway. I think apple manages music very well. I just think with their latest phone they haven't innovated very much. I have the 4s and with the ios7 it pretty much has what the 5s has (bar better camera, finger scanner, faster processor). I think from what I can see Samsung is giving customers what they want, if you want a camera with a phone bolted on , we can do it, or bigger phone, or phone to control any TV, better multitask. Watch (not that I like it). They seem to have dozens of products. Apple call them confused. But the reality is they give the consumer what they want. Tim Cook seems to be stuck with Jobs vision. I think they said it all when they said that the latest ipad had been worked on for a number of years.. that means its Steve Jobs vision. At the end of the day Apple does not make TVs or cameras and they are limited to high end market and to people who want devices to be simple and work consistently. Apple has never let me down and all the devices i have bought still work. But they are limited, If am going on a hike for a few days I know I need to bring a back battery pack for iphone. While samsung will just make a bigger phone with larger battery and let you buy a backup battery.

good plan - but i wager you wont touch the ipod after a week with the note.

you will end up buying a standard bluetooth speaker and stream straight from your phone when at home.
you can do that with iphone of course but you have to buy apple speakers.
android wins because you get to choose.

of course you can get a huge amount of memory on the note - so you can hold so much more songs for a lot less than it would cost to buy the bigger memory iphone.

for instance you can buy 64 gig for as little as 11 sterling - or up to 30 sterling.
again , you win because you get to choose.

anyways - you were looking for negatives.
heres one - you should not buy the note if you dislike making decisions to suit yourself.
if you prefer being told what you can and cant do with your own device then stick with apple.

Currently have an iPhone 5 and it really isn't great at all....Like the interface is just boring, It's too small for me and I just don't like it, don't get me wrong its quite quick and all. I'm going to get the Nexus 5 hopefully when that comes out. I'd definitely go with the Note 3 if i were you.

Just be sure you are happy switching to Android. The point above about compatible products is a valid one, especially if you have docks or whatever for an Apple product already. My annoyance is my cars iPhone/iPod connection won't accept any Android device for music.

I find the Note 3 fine in terms of size, it's solid but the materials aren't the best out there, and it can be a little buggy at times. What swings it for me though is the battery life and how useful the spen can be for Web browsing. If you use ms exchange knox is excellent to keep it away from your personal stuff.

This Note 3 Vs S4 is giving me a headache

    3GB Ram Vs 2GB Ram
    4.3 Vs 4.2
    5.7" Vs 5.0" (a pro or a con)
    2.3ghz x4 x 1.8ghz x4
crap sound quality vs ok sound quality
(of course this is without earphones)
    3100(3200)mAh vs 2300 mAh

However, the Note 3 is so big that both hands are needed for certain apps. Where as just one hand for S4.
I'm presuming that you need not a case, but a bag for it :). I have this problem is having one one fully useable hand.

I am using an Apple 4S atm, no real near to go up to Apple 5S, there really is no innovation in this phone for the last couple of years. They just added new features. I went over to Apple from Nokia(RIP the attempt on the market). I could wait a wait or two longer for the Nexus 5 if I wanted to have Android 4.4 and all the same features of the Note 3 (namely the processor), but the body of the S4(slightly smaller in fact) and the 2300mAh battery. I should point out the I'm with Three and I don't know if they will be selling the Google Nexus 5.
