His family have put this up on Facebook:
Waterford man missing from Galway. Very worried family requesting public assistance.
Our brother James Ryan aged 39, 5 ft 10 in height, went missing from Galway last Tuesday night on 22nd Oct. He was last seen at a petrol station in Claregalway, Galway at approx. 7:30pm on the Tuesday. He left the station driving his Gold Nissan Almera hatchback registration number 04-W-382. He was last seen wearing a blue shirt (possibly a black jacket) and green trousers. It's unclear where in the country he is right now but there is a possiblity he may have returned to his native county Waterford but this is only a possibilty.

Trace Missing Persons are a registered charity who assist families in finding loved ones, so if they're making this statement then it looks like the worst has come to pass.

Desperately sad news, your heart goes out to the family.

THE death of a man whose body was discovered in a burnt out car is not being treated as suspicious.

The body, believed to be that of missing Galway man James Ryan, was found in his car this morning in a wooden area in Monivea, Co Galway.

A Garda spokesman said his death is being treated as a personal tragedy.

The 39-year-old man had been living in the area.

Forensic examinations took place at the scene today and the body was removed for a post-mortem examination.
