Hi,

Would anyone know about computer programming courses? I was thinking about C++, PHP, Python and/or Java, but I can't seem to find much through Google. The courses I do find look a bit dodgy. Is there reputable institutions or awards I should try? Does anyone have any experience with good institutions?

If you already have a degree you should look into the free hdip courses offered through many of the ITs and universities

You may be better off learning by yourself than doing some of these courses. I spent a year in a computing fetac level 5 course. We learned very little. I came out of the programming module being able to write a hello world program and do some math equations. Self study is where it's at if you want to be a good programmer soon.

I know this may be the most basic question to ask but what degree would be the best for someone with no IT experience and looking to change careers from constructions to IT?
Where is the best place to start ie. straight into a degree course or all the smaller programming courses available online?
Any advice would be appreciated!
