With GTA 5 not been released and now the next generation fifa which I am very annoyed about not been released on PC is this setting a new trend. Will game developers start giving on PC up gaming? Bought a new PC a few months back and pissed off now that I that just didn't wait get a PS4. There will always be a select few games like Battlefield but will developers bother now with PC with the next gen consoles. Thoughts?

Next Gen Fifa trailer released today

Well yeah even more so. With the next gen consoles coming along making games for the PC and next gen will be so much simpler since they're running on the same architecture which'll cut down on development time for ports and stuff.

People said PC gaming was dying years ago but here it is still chugging along,it's growing pretty fast in all fairness since its so easy to get into now,a good gaming pc is only around 500 euros now where as a few years ago it'd be around 1k so the market is steadily expanding, this is all based around Moore's law.

Besides most of the games on next gen will be **** for a year or two in anyway and the exclusives aren't even that good,Titan fall which everyone is raving on about is coming to PC,Gta V will be on the next gen within a year and along with that a PC port.

Fifa definitly isn't be released and I'm pretty sure GTA 5 isn't either. I'd say most of the new games for the next GEN consoles won't be hitting the PC. Any decent single player games everyone knows that most pc gamers just download them for free

    Fifa 14 is on pc.

    https://www.origin.com/en-ie/store/buy/fifa-14-ANW.html

or go here if you want it cheaper.

GTA 5 is coming to pc in the spring.

The vast majority of next gen console games, apart from the obvious exclusives, will come to pc as they have done last gen. Pc has it's own exclusives. Many more than consoles. The pc games market this year was as big as the combined console market in terms of revenue.

Piracy is an issue on consoles as well but there's still massive money in pc sales. Just as much as consoles and the pc market is growing faster than the console market. Second hand game sales I'm sure accounts for at least the same loss, if not a bigger loss, for games companies than pc piracy does.

Thats the current generation Fifa14 for xbox360 , PS3 and PC not the next generation Fifa which isn't been released on PC which has completely different gameplay, its been release on PS4 and 720 :( Good to hear about GTA though, still have to wait a while which is a pain though :( Is there an official announcement for GTA5?

For me, it all boils down to the type of game I'm buying.

Would I buy FIFA14 on PC? hells no, all my eh (local) mates play on consoles so thats what I'll play on.

As for FPS, its all about PC for me. Only 2 or 3 pals play them online so why bother getting it on a console as the FPS games are generally better on PC.

It depends on what games you like to play, how much you care about quality and how dedicated you are. If you only play FIFA and COD, GTA V and other big budget mass market games a couple of times a year, and are un-enthusiastic about 1080p+ 60fps+, HQ graphics, with the most precise controls (KB+M) for an overall better and more immerse experience then the PC is of limited value to you. This seems to be the case for a very large percentage of the gaming public and so I wouldn't recommend a PC for those people.

In 2013 PC gaming is bigger by revenue than the all home consoles combined (excluding handhelds which are themselves being trounced by tablet/smartphone gaming). So if anything it's the consoles that are under threat.

RPG's, RTS's FPS's, Sims are all far better on PC. Niche/indie/modded games are 100:1 compared to consoles. The communities built around PC games also dwarf consoles in all measurements (activity, revenue, dedication, longevity). Games in all categories such as competitive/pro leagues (CS, LoL, Starcraft, DOTA) and MMORPGs (Eve, World of Warcraft, Entropia, Guild Wars) and hardcore simulation (Arma, Flight Sim X, rfactor). Many games that are 15-20 years are still active not to mention retro gaming emulation.

TL;DR- PC gaming is a million miles away from consoles and is still accelerating away, but it won't appeal to everyone.
